Employment Type: Temporary / Seasonal (tournament dates, ~2–3 weeks

Reports To: Co-Founder / CEO, The Nourish Spot

Shifts Available: Opening Manager (10:00 AM–6:00 PM) or Closing Manager (5:30 PM–11:30 PM)

About the Role

The Nourish Spot is seeking two energetic, detail-oriented Seasonal Shift Managers to lead our concession stand during the US Open. Managers oversee a 6-person team across register, smoothie, salad, açaí/prep, and floater stations, ensuring fast, friendly, and consistent service during one of the busiest culinary activations of the year. The two manager shifts briefly overlap each day for a structured handoff, inventory count, and team briefing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Open or close the concession per checklist (equipment power-up/down, food safety checks, cash drawer setup/count)
  • Lead and coach a 6-person crew across all stations for the shift; assign and rotate stations
  • Monitor line flow and reposition staff during rush periods (session start/end, changeovers)
  • Track inventory levels and communicate re-stock/prep needs to the next shift
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation, and NYC health code compliance throughout the shift
  • Handle customer service escalations professionally and on-brand
  • Conduct a documented shift handoff with the incoming/outgoing manager (inventory, incident notes)
  • Wait on the end-of-night sales reconciliation report
  • Reinforce The Nourish Spot brand standards: presentation, pace, hospitality, and cleanliness
Qualifications
  • Prior supervisory experience in food service, retail, or hospitality preferred
  • Ability to stand/work in a high-volume, fast-paced outdoor event environment for full shift
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills
  • Comfortable handling POS systems and cash management
  • Food Protection Certificate REQUIRED
  • Availability for the full run of the tournament, including at least one weekend
Compensation

$20-$25, commensurate with experience, plus tips where applicable.
